Handy Ice Maker

This is the second countertop ice maker we have bought from Amazon. It is easy to fill and makes ice quickly . You can choose between three different ice cube sizes. We mostly use medium for one inch size cubes. Like all ice machines it makes some noise. There are red lights that go on when the basket is full or water needs to be added. There is an easy to use plug on the side so you can drain the water from the ice maker before storing or if you are going away for a while and turning the ice maker off. We had to replace the first one we bought after three years when the plastic ice pusher mechanism broke. We couldn’t find a replacement part, so we replaced the whole machine, which seems kind of wasteful, we would rather have been able to replace the broken part – hence the three stars

love love love this ice maker

this is the first ice maker i have ever owned but i can tell you it is a life saver. i love this ice maker. it’s easy to use makes lots of ice. we leave it on large & it makes more ice than we can use in aday. when i bought this one they had another one that was the same brand make model etc but it was silver & it was like $30 cheaper but i didn’t see that until i already bought this. doesn’t matter i would spend the money again for this. it does have a little noise when it’s empting the ice & when it’s making ice. but not a lot. it’s easy to add the water & take out the ice. the ice scoop is kinda small & has a small handle it fits well in hands (i have little hands child like) it would be a good scoop for children. you should know that the water runs back down by the basket that holds the ice & you have to make sure the water is out of the of the ice basket cause sometimes water will be in the basket not a lot but you will get a little wet if your not carefull. easy to use this just plug it in add water and turn on select the ice size and you are ready to make ice. The lights do come on if you need to empty the ice or fill up water. It does take it about 3 minutes for the lights to go off after you have added water or emptied the ice. the ice cubes are nice size on large the don’t melt fast like some ice cubes do. We used this during the superbowl sunday & it was keeping us in ice. we had to empty the basket more than we was using the ice. We had about 30 people over for the superbowl party & it was making plenty of ice for all of us.This is must if you have little space & want something that makes a lot of ice. It’s great for tailgate parties, parties, just about anything. the ice cubes are oval like with holes in them. it’s pretty neat to watch it make the ice. you can look threw the little window on the top to see how much ice is in the basket.
